Cabarete, best known to Windsurfers and Kitesurfers for its good trade winds during most of the year and Surfers for the good waves during the autumn, winter and spring months, is growing rapidly in numbers and new Hotel & Condo Complexes are sprouting up all over the show. There is a wide choice of Accommodation available here - from standard hotel rooms to luxury villas so you won't have a problem finding the right place for your stay!

The closest airport to Cabarete is Puerto Plata (POP) as it is only 25 minutes away. You might be able to find cheaper flights to Santo Domingo (2.5 hours away by taxi, $150 each way or 4.5 hours away, $10 each way by modern air conditioned buses via Caribe Tours or Metro Tours), or Santiago (1.5 hours away, $80 each way by taxi, $5 each way by buses).

Keep in mind that if you fly into Santo Domingo or Santiago, you need to take a taxi to the bus station. The bus will drop you off in Sosua or Cabarete. If in Sosua You'll have to get another taxi to Cabarete. We usually recommend that people get a taxi to Cabarete and take the bus back if they're on a budget. We do NOT recommend flying into Punta Cana airport as it's a 6-7 hour drive to Cabarete!

It all started with Kitexcite - The first Kitesurfing (and now also Paragliding) School in Cabarete on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
Back in 2000 when it all started, we began receiving more and more enquiries from People around the Globe wanting to come and learn the new and exciting Sport of Kite Surfing. Of course these people required accommodation too, so naturally they would ask us for our recommendations, as we are based in and should know Cabarete. Thus, we would provide them with detailed information on the best places to stay, in and around Cabarete.
5 Years later, Cabarete, along with the amount of Kite and Wind Surfing Schools, Hotels, Restaurants, Shops, Tourist Attractions and Local Population had grown immensley. At the same time, the number of enquiries we were receiving for Accommodation became more and more and the need for a website dedicated to to this became necessary. So, Our Webmaster created a website for us which was launched in June 2005 and has become very popular and successful since - www.cabareterooms.com.
Cabareterooms is an online booking engine which makes available all the information and tools a Visitor might need, featuring an Ebay style comparison of Hotels, Location maps, seasonal price calculator and much more. After comparing and refining their selections, the User selects their desired Accommodation and the enquiry along with the contact details and desired Itinerary is submitted to us. We then make the necessary arrangements and book the desired rooms providing they are available. If not, we advise where best to stay instead.
We act as a booking service and we work with selected Hotels, Apartments and Villas, whose Quality and services we have come to acknowledge over the years.
And what really makes us different to other Accommodation Type sites is:

How does cabareterooms.com work?
Quite differently to any other Booking Services!
# For Visitors enquiring and making a booking through the site:
Most Importantly, We work together with the Hotels, Apartment and Villa Owners direct and we will give you the price that we are given by them - the same price you would get directly from them, or better - we add nothing more!
We have implemented many very useful Tools for you to get the maximum information about a Listing and it's Location as possible.
When you are ready, select from the second dropdown menu entitled "View Listings" from which you can select between Hotels, Apartments and Villas listed in that Location. You then get a page with all the Listings in the category you selected are displayed in alphabetical order.
You can order these Listings by Name, Category, Location, Distance to Beach, Lowest Price and Rating.
Each Listing has some quickly viewable information:
The main Exterior Photo of the Property, Category or Type of Property, Local Location, Distance to Beach if Applicable, Minimum Room Price, Rating, a clickable Arial Photo which pops up a window showing the Location on an Arial Photo of the Town/City, Recommendations of Sports/Activities close to this Property, some quick clickable Photos and a main description.
You also have the option to Compare Listings sise by side - Ebay style. Check the checkboxes for up to 4 Listings you wish to compare and click on the buttons between the Listings to be taken to the Comparison page.
This is very useful for comparing facilities, Locations and other Information at a glance. Then, on the page dedicated to that Listing, You have again the zoomable Arial view of where the Property is located,
Exterior and Interior view Photos as well as custom Photos that have been uploaded.
For Hotels, Apartment and Villa Owners Listing on our site
We work commission based. We initially create the page for your Listing and send you a password with which you can edit your Listing in a protected Administration area.

cabareterooms.com is commission based - Listing with us is free!
When you list with us, we initially create your listing page for you and send you a username and password. You can then log in to your admin pages where you can edit your Listing. There are detailed instructions on what to do and avoid.
When a Client makes an enquiry for your property, we receive an email with the enquiry details and we then check availability and correct pricing with you. Once declared available, we make a paypal button visible to the user to pay the deposit you require.
After paying the deposit stated to our paypal account we confirm the booking with the Client and reserve the room with you. Of course the Client is made aware of your individual cancellation policy and in the case of a cancellation is asked to pay the difference.
Once paid, an email is generated automatically and sent to the client and yourself and acts as an e-ticket. This email contains all the booking details and underlines that payment of the deposit has been made and that the enquiry is herewith guaranteed. The Client should print this email and produce it on arrival, though you will have a copy too.
That's it really, it's as easy as that.
We will keep your dates and rates uptodate on your listings page though if you change them yourself, this is appreciated.
